Branxholm is a sleepy little timber town on the Ringarooma River, east of Scottsdale. The camping ground is near the Red Bridge in the middle of town, close to the start of the historic Briseis Race walking track, and it is a great spot to relax while the kids enjoy the pool and playground. There is a shop across the road, the grand old Imperial Hotel close by, excellent sightseeing at nearby Mt Horror lookout and fascinating mining history evident in the town’s graveyard. Bring firewood and fire pot, and phone ahead for permission to bring your dog.
