Bronte Lagoon lies amid sub-alpine woodland beside the Lyell Hwy (A10). Its tussocky shallows offer some of the most treasured fly fishing in Tasmania and its waters are reserved for artificial lures and flies. Camping is near the boat ramp and on the far side of the dam wall. Because this is Hydro Tasmania land, stays are limited to 7 days. There are no facilities so campers need to be self-sufficient, bringing their own water, firewood and gas/fuel stoves. To get here, turn off the A10 at the signs and travel 2 km to the boat ramp.
