The Broadwater on Macquarie

You don’t have to venture far from the Midland Highway to leave the busy tourist trail behind, and this modern, light-filled cabin on the historic Barton property is a chance to experience rural solitude and some superb trout fishing on the Macquarie Broadwater. Known today for its merino stud and pinot noir vineyard, Barton was established back in 1823 and was once owned by one of Australia’s trout-fishing pioneers. The fully equipped wood-heated cabin has a four-bed bunkroom and separate double bedroom, and canoes, a rowboat and lifejackets are provided.
