With an eye for beauty and symmetry, the gentleman farmer who built this place in 1837 created a timelessly elegant building, and its present role as a fine boutique hotel ensures it can be enjoyed in the manner it deserves. There are nine stylish rooms with quality wooden furniture, looking onto the garden or fountain courtyard. The guest lounge is the perfect place to enjoy an apéritif in front of the marble fireplace before taking a seat at dinner in the French-inspired dining room. In-house dinners are prepared by Calstock’s own celebrated French chef and are strictly by arrangement, but breakfasts are a daily celebration of French pastries and very good coffee.
