Off the main highway among the Tamar Valley’s riverside farms you’ll find Koukla’s – Greek for ‘beautiful’ – a hidden gem and one of Tasmania’s best Greek restaurants. The servings are huge but the prices are tiny, with rich Mediterranean flavours predominating in dishes such as lemon-infused slow-baked Greek lamb served with a hearty pile of roasted vegetables. Greek desserts are renowned and this place is no exception, so don’t leave without trying one of their fabulous custard pastries.
