Tamar River Retreat
Known locally as ‘the cherry farm’, this property is close to the Batman Bridge and offers easy access to both sides of the Tamar Valley. Two self-contained cottages overlook the river and are surrounded by open lawns, fruit trees and picturesque gardens. After a generous breakfast from the basket of goodies provided, take the 15-minute drive in to Beaconsfield and explore this little town whose fortunes have always been closely intertwined with goldmining. The town caught the attention of the world in 2006 when a prolonged and dramatic rescue saw two miners walk free after being trapped for two weeks more than a kilometre underground.
