Among tall trees along the Lake Sorell foreshore are about 100 gloriously secluded camping spots. It is more than likely you’ll be the only one here. There is plenty of firewood, an old water tank (boil or treat the water before use), playground and toilet facilities, but there are no shops in the area and Lake Sorell is closed for fishing. To get here, head to tiny Interlaken, 28 km from both the Midland and Lake hwys, and the campground is 300 m from the turn-off, signposted on the unsealed C527.
