In the middle of Tasmania’s north-eastern wine region, 2.5 km north of the little township of Lilydale on Golconda Rd (B81), this pleasant campground has shady sites beneath mature trees. The playground, picnic shelter and free firewood make this a desirable place to camp. However, the grassed area is beyond bollards, for tents only, and you have to carry in your gear; van sites are in the adjoining gravel carpark. Note: the maximum stay is 2 nights and small pets may be allowed if you ask first.

This campsite is located in Lilydale Falls Reserve

This little council reserve was set aside in 1923 to preserve 2 pretty waterfalls and their surrounding ferny forest. The picnic area is a delightful shady glen and has 2 huge oak trees, which were planted on the day of Queen Elizabeth’s coronation, in 1953, from acorns collected at Windsor’s Great Park in England.
