Country Club Hotel
Known locally as ‘the middle pub’ and located in the centre of Longford, this popular hotel has comfortable budget-priced rooms with shared facilities and a welcoming atmosphere. Behind the building’s heritage facade, its bar is a shrine to the town’s Formula One racing heyday when the Australian Grand Prix was run along the main street in the 1950s and 1960s. Much quieter today, Longford is a well-preserved colonial village. Within an easy drive along leafy lanes there are dozens of heritage homesteads amid attractive ‘English’ scenery, as well as some of Tasmania’s best fly-fishing waters.
