Low Head Maritime Museum
In 1805 a pilot service was set up to guide ships past dangerous rocks in the Tamar River. The pilot service is still in operation, but the convict-built cottages of early pilots now house this museum. Exhibits include an old whaling harpoon, a diving suit, shipwreck artefacts and a display about the work of pilots. If you visit on a Sunday, continue down the road to the Low Head Lighthouse.
