The cosy cottage accommodation on this grand old property is actually the old stone dairy – complete with the original morticed and pegged exposed beams and cobblestones. The property was settled in 1829, and the Georgian house, fortified barn, stone-walled compound, outbuildings and magnificent English-style gardens, including marching elephant topiary, have the Great Western Tiers as a backdrop. Pick some fresh fruit and vegetables or stroll down the stone path to the lake at dusk and you may see a platypus or two.
