Perth beaches

Along with Sydney, Perth arguably has Australia’s top city beaches. The best of these stretch north of the Swan River for around 35 kilometres in long, straight corridors of sand lining the Indian Ocean. Cottesloe is a family swimming beach featuring the historic Indiana Tea House and shady Norfolk pines. Further north is City Beach, which is rarely crowded; Scarborough Beach, great for surfing and windsurfing, with beachside cafes; Trigg Beach, a surf beach that can be dangerous in rough weather; and Sorrento Beach beneath Hillarys Boat Harbour.
