Along the banks of the South Esk River there are pleasant green camping sites close to a network of tracks heading into the Fingal Forests, so this place is ideal if you are into trail bikes or ATVs. There is good trout fishing and safe swimming in the river, or drive to the world’s tallest white gums at Evercreech Forest Reserve or to the 30 min return walking track to the four-tier Mathinna Falls. Griffin Rd is signposted off the C423, 2 km north of Mathinna. There are numerous campsites at this intersection and further along Griffin Rd. Campsites are closed during forest harvesting.
