Walls of Jerusalem National Park
Hiking and walking
Walls of Jerusalem National Park is an alpine wilderness like no other, and well-prepared visitors to these high altitudes will enjoy a truly unforgettable experience. With no road access, the main walking track leading inside this park starts in the north via Lake Rowallan. Passing dry forest and a cluster of lakes known as Solomons Jewels, it eventually leads to the ‘walls’ proper. The Walls of Jerusalem are five peaks that surround a basin, which lies 1200 metres above sea level. You can walk in and out in one day, but most hikers prefer to base themselves at a campsite for several days of walking.
