Fitzpatricks Inn

Westbury has more than its fair share of heritage buildings and this 1833 two-storey coaching inn is one of the earliest. With a hint of French Provincial hotel about the portico and pretty shuttered windows, Fitzpatrick’s is now an eight-room B&B with extra buzz provided by an à la carte restaurant and a cosy timber-panelled bar. Spend enough time enjoying a beer in front of the roaring log fire and you’ll be bound to hear a few good ghost stories about Myra, one of the three Fitzpatrick sisters who ran the inn during the 1900s, but don’t worry, they say her spirit is friendly.
