Van Dieman Brewing
Coming on-line in late 2009, Van Dieman Brewing is a 12-hectolitre microbrewery located on the Tatchell family farming property near Evandale in northern Tasmania. Spent grain is taken warm from the brewery’s mash tun to feed cattle in nearby paddocks. Head brewer Will Tatchell trained as a brewer in the United Kingdom, which reflects in Van Dieman’s range of bottle-conditioned ales. The beers take their names from various local geographical landmarks and include Ragged Jack Pale Ale, Jacob’s Ladder Amber Ale and Stacks Bluff Oatmeal Stout.
