Creative Paper, Burnie
Eco-friendly activity
Make your own paper with recycled bits and pieces on a half-hour tour at this non-profit, community-based enterprise. They use all sorts of odds and ends to make their eco-friendly papers, including old jeans, fruit pulp and even dried kangaroo scats. Staffed by volunteers, the place is worth visiting, even if you do not do the tour, to see the unbelievable papier-mâché artworks and learn a little about Burnie’s papermaking history. Bookings are advised for tours, and the place is open 9am–5pm weekdays, 9am–4pm weekends (but only open Sundays from September to April).
