Cradle Mountain Lodge
On the edge of Tasmania’s World Heritage wilderness, this award-winning luxury lodge and spa is set discreetly among native myrtle glades just outside the national park boundary. It is so close to the park that the boardwalks connecting the lodge’s 90 cabins to the restaurants and bars of the central chalet complex are often shared with the other residents of the area – small wallabies (known locally as pademelons), wombats and possums – especially after dark. After a day in the cool alpine air, enjoy warm gas log fires, deep armchairs and feather duvets, or pamper yourself in the exquisite King Billy suite with a private outdoor hot tub and complimentary chocolate fondue.
