Essence Food and Wine
This is a standout in the Devonport restaurant scene. A renovated red brick cottage provides an intimate, cosy atmosphere for dining, while the lounge bar with its open fire is a warm place to enjoy a pre-dinner drink. Choose something from the good selection of Tasmanian wines available by the glass before you sit down to a meal. On the menu you’ll find the best of Tasmania’s ‘European’ produce – venison, lamb, duck and trout – presented skilfully with a modern edge. Crispy-skinned confit of duck is a popular choice. With mains at such reasonable prices, you might think this is not a fine-dining restaurant, but don’t be fooled.
