Tiagarra Centre and Museum
The Tiagarra Centre and Museum holds artefacts, murals and exhibitions about the present-day cultures, art and history of Tasmania’s Aboriginal people, including the legendary Truganini, the last known full-blood Tasmanian Indigenous person. The centre is located on Mersey Bluff, which is one of the few Tasmanian sites where Aboriginal rock carvings are still well preserved. The buildings have been designed to resemble traditional Tasmanian Aboriginal dwellings. Tours of the site are occasionally offered.
