Lake Gairdner camping area
Campsite
On the banks of this hydro lake there is a free camping area with no facilities, so if the campground at Cradle Mountain is full (as it often is) this may be a good alternative, providing you are completely self-sufficient (come with firewood and drinking water). Turn west off the Cradle Mountain Rd C132, 1 km south of Moina, and then follow a dirt road to a gate signposted ‘camping but please shut the gate’, just before the white bridge. The area is an unshaded open paddock. There is another small site beneath the bridge.
