House of Anvers

When Belgian chocolate maker Igor Van Gerwen came to Tasmania he found the richest cream and butter in the world, perfect for making truffles and fudge. Visitors to his property just outside Latrobe can work up an appetite watching the moulding and enrobing of fine couverture chocolates, and then treat themselves to gorgeous cakes and pastries, light meals, teas, coffees and divine hot chocolate in this light and casual European-style cafe. Stop in for a smoked salmon baguette big enough to share, and a warm chocolate croissant fresh from the oven for breakfast – there’s no better way to start the day.
