Marrawah beaches

Confronting the full force of the Southern Ocean’s wind and waves, Marrawah is one of the state’s best surfing destinations. Its massive swells attract those with nerves of steel, and beginners should be prepared to watch and learn. A surfing classic is held here in March. From Marrawah there is access to West Point Reserve, which has Aboriginal middens on the coast dating back 2000 years. Heading south for more remote surf, there are a few locations that have access to the coast around the point of Temma. A handful of campsites are en route. Beyond the wilderness of the Arthur Pieman Conservation Area, you can reach the west coast again at Granville and Trial harbours.
