In a magical Lord of the Rings landscape, with Mount Roland towering above, this shingle-roofed rustic cabin houses a country-style restaurant offering an eclectic menu and good coffee. It’s a delightful place to stop between Sheffield and Cradle Mountain for a satisfying meal or a light snack. The menu offers a bit of everything, from vegetarian bakes and ratatouille to ploughman’s lunches, steaks and smoked trout. Their sweet treats are even better, with the treacle ginger tart a real favourite, but you’ll have trouble choosing from lemon mousse pudding, Swedish pancakes and orange syrup cake. Enjoy it all in surroundings reminiscent of a European country chalet.
