Armytage House

Armytage House is a superb renovation of the 1830s barn that used to store the grain for Milford Manor. The manor is long gone but the sandstone and handmade-brick walls of the barn enclose honey-coloured polished floors, a timber staircase and mezzanine loft bedroom in this luxury country hideaway. The furnishings are simple and stylish, the pure white bed linen is top quality, and the bathroom has the best modern features including a walk-in shower and double spa. Although there’s an excellent chef’s kitchen, you may be tempted to entertain around the massive outside fireplace and covered barbecue patio, or cook up a storm in the wood-fired pizza oven.
