McCauley’s Cottage

The unspoilt historic village of Hamilton has a generous choice of heritage accommodation but this stone and polished blackwood cottage built in 1846 is so carefully restored it’s as if the original owner – the clergyman’s assistant – has just stepped out for the afternoon. Downstairs the double bedroom has a lovely wrought-iron bed, and there is a country kitchen and lounge with an open fire, while upstairs the kids will just love their attic bedroom. The special attractions of McCauley’s Cottage continue outside into the fruit garden where there are cherries, raspberries and strawberries for the picking.
