If one of Tasmania’s rarest birds, the tiny ‘forty-spotted pardelote’, calls this place home, then you can be assured it is a peaceful garden haven perfect for a restorative holiday break. Just off the highway between Oyster Cove and Kettering, Tulendena’s cosy two-bedroom cottage surrounds its visitors with pretty views and lush flower gardens, while inside there are polished floors, simple but tasteful decor and comfortable furnishings. On a sunny day the sitting room is flooded with light and there’s a wood-fired heater to ward off winter chills. All in all this is the perfect base to explore the channel district’s attractions, or just a lovely retreat for a weekend away.
