One of Australia’s oldest manor houses, Stanton has been a stately home and working farm since 1817. There are three bedrooms furnished with beautiful period antiques, and the other rooms of the house – a library, sunroom, spa room and living room with a piano and parlour games – are available for guests to enjoy, as are the extensive verandahs. Art, calligraphy or sewing materials are on hand, and there’s all the gear you’ll need for a round of golf or afternoon’s fishing. In the morning, a generous ‘Stantonesque’ breakfast of crumpets, smoked salmon, avocado and cream cheese is served in the dining room from Wedgwood, crystal and silver dinnerware on a lace-covered dining table.
