As it loudly proclaims in words a metre high, this cosmopolitan eatery opposite Port Arthur Historic Site is a celebration of coffee, art and food. And they live up to their promise when it comes to food, with a blackboard menu of hearty dishes like lamb and mushroom ragout or wallaby sausages with garlic mashed potato. Alongside eggy breakfasts there is scrambled tofu on offer or grilled haloumi with balsamic glaze, greens and crusty toast. Lunches are soups, burgers and panini, and for big appetites you can’t go past the Eucalypt Plate – a smorgasbord of smoked quail, soup, cheeses, salad and crusty bread. Cakes, cookies, excellent coffee, a short local wine list and a delightful craft gallery complete the picture.
