Campsite

At the far end of Cloudy Bay, this isolated campsite is accessible only to 4WD vehicles and involves driving 3 km along the beach at low tide. Camping is a short walk from the beach and there is water in a creek but it should be boiled. Boats can be launched from the beach, but vehicles and trailers can’t be parked at the campsite or on the beach. From Lunawanna, take the C629 then Cuthberts Rd to Cloudy Bay Beach. Once on the beach, a limit of 40 km per hour applies and drivers should stay below the high-tide mark.
