West Coast Wilderness Railway

You will marvel at the people who created this 35-kilometre track in the late-19th century, hewing tunnels by hand and bridging deep gorges in the wilderness. The historic train runs one direction each day and you are taken back to your starting point by coach. At stops along the way you can take short rainforest walks and have a taste of local honey. If you depart from Queenstown, you might even get a chance to try gold-panning. The total trip takes a full day and lunch is included.
