Huggetts Crossing camping area
This camping area is at the western edge of the reserve, and is connected to Dermody Camp by the enchanting Avon River Trail. South of here you can get superb forest views from the Green Hill and Huggett lookouts, or head further south to Bulldog Junction to do the walk up to the picturesque summit of Mt Hendrick. Huggetts can only be accessed with a 4WD from Green Hill via the Huggett–Mt Angus Track.

This campsite is located in Avon–Mount Hedrick Scenic Reserve
The forests of the 5700 ha Avon–Mount Hedrick Reserve, 20 km north-west of Maffra, are fed by the lovely Avon River and contain abundant wildlife, including grey kangaroos, sugar gliders, water dragons and tawny frogmouth owls. Take long walks along the river’s rocky channel, or have an extended picnic among the eucalypts. From Maffra, head to Boisdale. Three km past the town, turn onto Luckmans Rd, north onto the Warrigal–Tom Rd, then follow the signs.
