Lee Creek camping area
Confusingly, the Lee Creek camping area is beside Sportsman Creek on Freestone Creek Rd. The Lee Creek area was the focus of intensive alluvial goldmining during the last decade of the 19th century, and it’s worth heading over to Alistair Fieldings to do a walking tour of old water races, dams and housing sites. This campground is 28 km north of Briagolong.

This campsite is located in Briagolong State Forest
Delightful Briagolong State Forest is 15 km north of the town of Stratford – which is on the Avon River, of course. It was once filled with excitable gold prospectors and is now a magnet for nature-struck bushwalkers and picnickers. Signposted off the tracks that squirm through the forest are numerous pleasant campsites. Take Briagolong Rd north from Stratford, which is on the Princes Hwy.
