Shadys Place camping area
Shadys Place camping area is 19 km north of Briagolong along Freestone Creek Rd. During the day, try to spot some of the dozens of bird species that live in the forest; at night, when you’re stretched out beside the campfire, listen to the frog calls that fill the evening air. Cyclists will sometimes pedal through here on their way to or from Dargo.

This campsite is located in Briagolong State Forest
Delightful Briagolong State Forest is 15 km north of the town of Stratford – which is on the Avon River, of course. It was once filled with excitable gold prospectors and is now a magnet for nature-struck bushwalkers and picnickers. Signposted off the tracks that squirm through the forest are numerous pleasant campsites. Take Briagolong Rd north from Stratford, which is on the Princes Hwy.
