Bunga Arm, in the road-free western part of Gippsland Lakes Coastal Park, is a spit of sand that has built up between the ocean and Lake Victoria. There are 7 designated camping areas, each with a dozen campsites and basic facilities. The sites are only accessible by boat, and you need a permit to camp here (bookable through Bairnsdale office). Keen anglers will fix their sights on mullet, flathead and skipjack, and there’s also a designated waterskiing area offshore.
