You’ll find dispersed camping on grassy sites at Talbotville down by Crooked River, almost 16 km along McMillan Rd from the Dargo High Plains Rd turn-off. Wander around the old Talbotville Cemetery or inspect the rusty ore carts at the nearby New Good Hope Mine – note that reaching the latter entails numerous river crossings. You can also follow McMillans Track into adjacent Alpine National Park. Note: McMillans Rd is suitable for 2WD drives only in dry weather; off-road camper trailers can be towed in by a 4WD.
