Glasshouse is one of several camping spots east of Nowa Nowa Arm. It’s on Glasshouse Beach at the southern end of Lake Tyers Rd and has no facilities to speak of – perfect for those who want to play castaway for a night. The site is named after an early 20th century factory that made glass telegraph insulators in a special furnace.

This campsite is located in Lake Tyers Forest Park

Placid Lake Tyers is fringed with eucalypts on one side, and on the other it’s separated from Bass Strait by a thin ridge of sand. Only 20 km north-east of Lakes Entrance, the lake’s sheltered waters attract canoeists, anglers and swimmers, while walkers tramp cheerily through the nearby rainforest. The lake can be accessed off the Princes Hwy via Burnt Bridge Rd, 10 km north of Lakes Entrance, or Lake Tyers Rd, 6 km east of Nowa Nowa.
