This beach is at the end of Pettman Rd, which runs off Lake Tyers Rd. This is the only camping area in Lake Tyers Forest Park that has toilets. Coupled with the fact that it’s beside the ocean, this means that there’s often stiff competition for the sites here, particularly from those who like surf-fishing. If you’re a surfer rather than a surf-fisher, try the swells over at Red Bluff.

This campsite is located in Lake Tyers Forest Park

Placid Lake Tyers is fringed with eucalypts on one side, and on the other it’s separated from Bass Strait by a thin ridge of sand. Only 20 km north-east of Lakes Entrance, the lake’s sheltered waters attract canoeists, anglers and swimmers, while walkers tramp cheerily through the nearby rainforest. The lake can be accessed off the Princes Hwy via Burnt Bridge Rd, 10 km north of Lakes Entrance, or Lake Tyers Rd, 6 km east of Nowa Nowa.
