The Boathouse Restaurant
Part of the Bellevue on the Lakes hotel complex, this stand-alone restaurant specialises in local seafood and has been voted one of the top ten seafood restaurants in Victoria. The contemporary restaurant has linen-clad tables and exudes a good atmosphere. Lovers of seafood can’t see past the three-course seafood banquet, where the stars of the menu arrive in three distinct courses. First, cold seafood arrives: a selection of oysters, chilled prawns and aioli. Then, hot seafood: prawn spring rolls, salt-and-pepper calamari, garlic prawns, Thai-style fish cakes and scallops with chorizo sausage. The last course comprises salmon fillet, crumbed flathead tails, battered gummy shark and chips. Carnivores should go for the terrific eye fillet. Happy hour is from 5pm to 6pm.
