Take a seat on the balcony of this first-floor restaurant overlooking the vast waters of the lakes and the trawlers that dock there after a day’s fishing. Locals come for the warm bruschetta of smoky red peppers, feta, grilled prawns and oregano, or freshly shucked oysters done three ways: chilled with lemon wedges, in tempura batter or roasted with semi-dried tomatoes, bacon and parsley. They also come for the plump roasted fillet of chicken filled with prawn, tomato and feta, or the very versatile Miriam’s Greek fisherman’s plate that can be ordered all hot, all cold or half and half. In season it comprises crabmeat, crayfish, mussels, fish, oysters, prawns, calamari, Balmain bugs and more.
