Jacksons Crossing camping area (bush camping)
This is a delightful camping area. Access to the bush-camping site, on the banks of the Snowy River, is via Varneys Track, off Yalmy Rd. A 4WD is needed to reach this isolated spot in the south of the park, although it’s also possible to get here by canoe. There are no facilities – don’t forget to bring drinking water. Jacksons Crossing contains some Aboriginal relics; it’s believed the Kruatungulung group of the Kurnai people used to hunt in the area.
