Silver Mine Walking Track - Snowy River National Park
Hiking and walking
Although Snowy River National Park is not a well-known bushwalking destination, it boasts plenty of enticing wilderness. The 15‑kilometre-loop Silver Mine trail leads from McKillops Bridge, climbing up onto a ridge for views to distant mountains, and then down to the boulder-strewn Snowy River and the remains of an old silver-lead mine that was in brief operation until 1905. You can do this loop in one day or camp by the river overnight.
