Centrally located in Ballarat’s historic arts precinct, this atmospheric eatery is housed in a converted newspaper building, not a brewery at all. However, it boasts one of the best wine lists in town with a good selection available by the glass. The contemporary menu offers Asian-influenced dishes such as Sichuan pepper-dusted squid and twice-cooked pork belly on a warm Asian salad for starters, followed perhaps by rack of spring lamb with pistachio, brie and mushroom filling or seafood and chicken tom yum. Imaginative vegetarian options might be homemade sweet potato and sage ravioli with wild mushrooms and spinach ragout.
