This smartly renovated pub offers two levels of dining: a casual, well-executed list of pub favourites like fish and chips or chicken pot pie in the front bar, and a more serious menu in the casually chic dining room at the rear of the building (think slow-roasted duck and excellent crispy pig trotters). It offers a similar level of high-quality, locally sourced ingredients and switched-on service no matter which end of the spectrum you choose. A wine list that includes local, national and international wines provides plenty of joy for the buffs; Sunday is BYO night.
