The Art Nouveau details and high ceilings of the former Royal Bank building provide the background to one of Bendigo’s best fine diners. The menu is contemporary European, with a lean towards the French, particularly in its impressive sourcing and use of local ingredients. Dishes are quite intricate but are finessed rather than tricky. A potato and gorgonzola soufflé makes light work of potentially heavy ingredients, duck is served confit and roasted, and desserts lean towards the fruity and refreshing. Smart service rounds out an impressive package.
