This campground is off Melville Caves Rd, signposted off the Wedderburn–Dunolly Rd; the caves were once used as a hideout by bushranger Captain Melville. From the picnic area there’s a short walk to the Southern Lookout, which continues to McLeods Lookout – there’s no shortage of superb views here. If you’re really into rocks, do the 4.5 km Eastern Walking Circuit, which takes in all manner of interesting formations.
