The perimeter of Ulupna Island has been staked out by the flow of Ulupna Creek and that of the Murray River. Look for platypus in the quieter stretches of water. Take Bourchiers Rd from the Murray Valley Hwy at Strathmerton, turn left on Mywee Rd, then right on Ulupna Bridge Rd.

This campsite is located in Barmah National Park

Some of the river red gums in Barmah National Park took root here half a millennium ago. This extraordinary national park is the world’s largest sanctuary for the river red gum, located beside the Murray River near the town of Barmah. There’s cool swimming in the river. Some visitor sites and tracks within the national park were closed due to flood damage in early 2012 - check with Parks Victoria on the current status.
