Gunbower Family Hotel
Restaurant/cafe
This unassuming hotel just a few kilometres from the Murray River has created quite a buzz with the quality of its meat. It is not so hard to understand why when you realise that publican Richard McGillivray is also a butcher who grazes his own livestock (grass-fed Herefords and Wiltshire horn sheep) and operates an abattoir, so the paddock-to-plate trail is under constant scrutiny. Some Asian-influenced dishes are also on the menu, such as duck spring rolls, but it is the beef and lamb that has kept the chatter coming.
