There’s dispersed bush camping along the picturesque Ovens and Murray rivers – try Parolas and Camerons bends. Check the local riverbanks for platypus and water rat burrows, and watch kingfishers go after their supper. Look for the signage off the Murray Valley Hwy near the Parolas Bridge, which stretches across the Ovens River.

This campsite is located in Lower Ovens Regional Park

This park is centred on the confluence of the Ovens and Murray rivers, just east of Lake Mulwala and 20 km from Yarrawonga. It’s a scenic place to go fishing, boating and camping, with its old-growth river red gums, flocks of pelicans and black swans, and a handful of overgrown islands. Access is off the Murray Valley Hwy.
