Formerly the site of a forestry camp, Freemans is now regularly occupied by picnickers and other daytrippers. The open nature of the site makes it good for families and other large groups. Get onto Main Rd from Ennis Rd, which branches off the Hume Fwy just south of the Tallarook township exit – the campground is 11 km east of the Hume. Note: while conventional vehicles can access Freemans, other areas of the forest require a 4WD.

This campsite is located in Tallarook State Forest

This 5000 ha forest is threaded by dirt trails and so is understandably popular with those in a 4WD and motorcyclists. It lies to the east of the Hume Fwy between the towns of Broadford and Seymour. Access to the network of tracks within the forest is via Ennis Rd.
